Olympic Day – Exhibition Football – Saturday June 22

Dear Football loving parents –
The BVI FA have asked me to bring out some kids to AO Shirley Grounds for exhibition matches on Saturday morning to celebrate Olympic day. There may also be uniforms for the kids but I am still waiting to hear details on that from the BVI FA.

I do suggest that the kids come out in their BDO football kits if possible…..in the event that uniforms don’t fit or don’t arrive it will at least look a bit more organized.

This event will replace the usual Sea Cows Bay training for this Saturday only.

Please let me know if you will be able to bring out children for Saturday morning at AO Shirley Grounds for 8am. (Reply to Coach Walter – walter.reich@tovel.vg)

Regardless of what happens we hope to at least run a practise with a real possiblity of a great couple of matches. The idea is that we would have a match between kids aged 9 through 12 (evenly split) and a game between the younger kids (again evenly split). A response would be greatly appreciated so that I can fill the spot if necessary with another child who can attend.

Anegada U9 Football Match CHANGE!!

Dear football parents,

The U9 game scheduled for May 11th in Anegada has been postponed to May 25th.

This change allows us to make ONLY ONE TRIP to Anegada, with both the U9 and U12 teams, to play their matches.

Training Session for U12 Tuesday and Baughers Bay.

We have a big match this Thursday for the U12 team. So we would like to have a U12 training session at Baughers Bay tomorrow (Tuesday) at 4.30pm. The players will be picked up from the school. Practice should be about 1 hour and we can bring them back to the school or parents can meet us in Baughers Bay to pick up your child.
Please make every effort to have your child attend this practice. They have been dormant for a couple of weeks with just a few training sessions so we need to refresh them and build their confidence and team spirit.

To All Parents – 3 Announcements

Dear Parents,

1)	All student athletes who took part in this years’ 2013 Inter-Primary Sports Day are asked to wear their P.E. uniforms on Wednesday 20th March 2013. Our students did exceptionally well and we have arranged to have group photos taken of these athletes/students at the school. Please ensure that they wear their medals on that day. We hope to start taking photos at 9:30am

2)		Thursday 21st March 2013 is the last day of school for the Easter Holidays. The Director, Principal and Teachers of the Primary Division have decided to reward the children for their hard work and sportsmanship displayed at this year’s House Sports and at the Inter-Primary Sports. In doing so, we will have an end of term party for the children. We are asking that parents provide their children with morning snack and water and lunch will be provided by the school. Thanking you in advance for your co-operation.

3)	Under 7 Footballers – This weekend, Saturday 23rd March 2013 the school’s U7 Soccer team will be playing in Virgin Gorda against Cornerstone School. Parents who wish to accompany the team to Virgin Gorda are asked to submit their names to Mrs. Vanterpool at the school no later than Wednesday 20th March.The players will travel for free, parents/teachers will pay $20.00 round-trip.

Junior players needed for start of Men’s Final on Sunday

The BVI FA would like 8 junior players from First Impressions to attend the opening ceremony of the men’s senior league final on Sunday.

The children are kindly requested to be at AO Shirley for around 6.30pm. They will walk on to the pitch with the players for photos etc. prior to kick off at 7pm, after which they are free to leave or indeed watch some of the game; however we are conscious it is a school night.

BVIFA will provide a tee shirt for the kids involved. Just need to know their sizes. They can wear their black BDO school league shorts and socks along with a sneakers or football boots.

We would like to get a list of names so please let us know at the school or at Saturday Morning Football or email: admin@firstimpressionsbvi.com with the subject line “Men’s Final”

Coach Ricky’s send off lime at Mulligans

Alas, tis time to say farewell to yet another member in our FIPS family. Coach Ricky leaves next week to rejoin his family in Jamaica. Let’s give him a proper send off so come join in the lime at Mulligan’s tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, Feb 2nd) from 5:30pm onwards, to laugh, nyam, drink and cry and hopefully re-live the finals on the big screen.
