Wonderful Ending Weekend

Students, Parents and Friends,

We had a wonderful weekend to end the school year. It started with the inaugural graduation ceremony and prize giving ceremony on Friday, June 29th. This was a momentous occasion for First Impressions and we were happy to share it with so many supporters. Congratulations to our first graduates, all of whom passed their exams with a Grade 1 Level pass. These first results from First Impressions Primary School make us proud.  Thank you all for making this day the great day it was.

Then on Sunday, July 1st there was the final day of the BDO Football League and we were treated to a long afternoon of great football which was followed by the awards ceremony. Once again we placed very high in this competition. Our U7 team placed 3rd in their division and an exhibition game was played between the 1st and 2nd place winners. The U9 division played their final match and our team won this match for 1st place in this division. This match was followed by the U12 final match. This turned out to be a nail-biting, heart-pounding match which after full time and overtime was tied with a score of 1-1. The match had to be decided by a penalty shootout and this is where our team finally won the victory.

First Impressions ended up with two 1st place positions and one 3rd place position. Congratulations to all the students who took part and to all the parents who supported all throughout the league and who rocked the stands as we cheered on our teams.

Have an enjoyable summer and we look forward to seeing you again when school re-opens. To those who will be leaving our FI family, especially to the graduates, we will miss you and we wish you success in all your future endeavours.

Tomorrow’s football game OFF

Hello Everyone,

The match which was re-scheduled for tomorrow is now OFF. We have been told that the coach and teacher in VG sent a text to say the team will not be coming and that we will win by forfeit. So we can all meet at Manitees FC in Sea Cows Bay to continue our practice and training in preparation for the final matches on July 1st.  See you there.

There is also the possibility of going over to the HLSCC to play an exhibition match for their Olympics activities there. This has not been planned so it is not a definite by any means.

Thank you.

Today’s Football Match Postponed!

We just got news that the Rainbow team from Virgin Gorda will not be coming over this afternoon for the match. Exams are going on territory wide and there seems to be a conflict with some players and they will not be able to make the boat. The match has been re-scheduled to Saturday morning. Check the calendar for the time as it will be updated as soon as we have that information.

WE WILL STILL GO TO A.O. SHIRLEY GROUNDS FOR A PRACTICE SESSION! The children will still be picked up and taken to the field to participate in a training session to hone some skills and keep them ‘on their toes’ for the upcoming final on July 1st. They will be brought back to the school after the session which should end before 6:00p.m. Please call if you need to contact us. Pier: 340-2045

Football Finals

Hello Parents,

The finals of the BDO Schools Football League will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, 1st July 2012 at the A.O. Shirley recreational grounds. This is as it was announced when the tournament began and in subsequent press releases.

In the finals our U7 team is in 3rd place and will not play a final match, U9 will play Cedar Blue, and we expect U12 to play the winner of Zone 2 in their category.

We have only one match remaining before then and that is tomorrow, 19th June when the U12 team will meet Rainbow at 4:15pm. Please continue to come out to support the teams.

Thank you,
First Impressions

UPDATE!! U9 game TOMORROW instead of Saturday

I was just called by the BVIFA and they would like to move our U9 football match from next Saturday to TOMORROW and the new venue is the Althea Scatliffe school.

They are making this request because they have just learned that neither Althea Scatliffe field or AO Shirley will be available for us to use on Saturday.

The children will be picked up from school as usual and taken to the match. Please be sure to send their kits and water.

Congratulations to U7, U9 and U12 Football Teams!

Congratulations to all teams for last Saturday morning’s games. All teams were triumphant in their matches. It was a proud FI Football morning. Thank you to all the parents who came out in the hot sun to support the children as they showed off their stuff. We are looking forward to just a few more games so let us continue to support the teams.

June 2nd – U7, U9 & U12 games

Hello Football Fans,

Tomorrow is a BIG Football day for us. Here are the latest changes:

U7 is scheduled for 11:00am but Coach Cass has asked us to get there earlier if possible to she can start the match between 9:30 and 10:00. I hope word gets to the other team.

There are 4 U7 games then the U9 games will be played. The markings on the field for the U9 and U12 overlap so the matches cannot be played concurrently. So the U9 game will be played followed by the U12.  Game times might not be adhered to so we have to be prepared to wait if necessary.

The children have been phenomenal so far in their playing and it makes us happy to come out and watch them. Thank you for your support and let’s have a great morning tomorrow. GO FIPS!!!

U7 matched – Already played!

The U7 match scheduled for Thursday against Enid Scatliffe Gray was played already on Saturday May 12.

Tomorrow’s  U7 match is cancelled!!

Football Practice for U9 & U12 this Thursday

Hello Football Parents,

We are all pleased with the performance of our teams in all divisions of the football league so far. At this stage of the competition we have to keep the players at their best and any long breaks at this stage are not necessarily a good thing. Additionally, as we have now had the opportunity to see the teams play competitively, we need to carry out a little coaching to fine tune their skills and incorporate some strategy to help them perform even better. THE MOST DIFFICULT MATCHES ARE STILL TO COME.

It is with this in mind that we have arranged for a practice game and coaching session with the U9 and U12 teams at the school this Thursday at 5pm. We hope you will make every effort to allow your player to be there.

Thank you in advance for  your cooperation.
