Re:  Exam Schedule

Firstly, let me apologise for assessments not being administered as scheduled.  Quite unexpectedly, Miss Atterbury had to leave island at the spur of the moment.  Therefore assessments that were scheduled to take place on Thursday and Friday of this week will be done next Monday and Tuesday.

A few reminders:

School closes next Thursday 27.

Prize Giving is Tuesday 2 July at 12:30p.m. on the schools’  grounds  for Grades K-5 only.  Children are to be at school for 9:00a.m.  in uniform.   This ceremony should be approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.  Children are dismissed directly after the awards.

Graduation is on Tuesday 2 July at 4:30p.m. on the schools’  grounds.  Grade Six will receive all their awards at this time.

Olympic Day – Exhibition Football – Saturday June 22

Dear Football loving parents –
The BVI FA have asked me to bring out some kids to AO Shirley Grounds for exhibition matches on Saturday morning to celebrate Olympic day. There may also be uniforms for the kids but I am still waiting to hear details on that from the BVI FA.

I do suggest that the kids come out in their BDO football kits if possible…..in the event that uniforms don’t fit or don’t arrive it will at least look a bit more organized.

This event will replace the usual Sea Cows Bay training for this Saturday only.

Please let me know if you will be able to bring out children for Saturday morning at AO Shirley Grounds for 8am. (Reply to Coach Walter – walter.reich@tovel.vg)

Regardless of what happens we hope to at least run a practise with a real possiblity of a great couple of matches. The idea is that we would have a match between kids aged 9 through 12 (evenly split) and a game between the younger kids (again evenly split).  A response would be greatly appreciated so that I can fill the spot if necessary with another child who can attend.

Thank you.

Tomorrow’s Football Game is at 9:45

The U12 final game is tomorrow, June 14th at 9:45am at AO Shirley. Please come out and support our team on this last match.

We have also learned that there will be a playoff for 2nd place in the U9 league. Details to come

FI Summer Camp: Around the World in 23 Days!

First Impressions Summer Camp 2013 will take children on an exciting tour of the art, music, dance and games of the five continents and the Caribbean.   Children will learn about different cultures as they create African masks and Aboriginal dot paintings.  Fresh air and outdoor fun will be plentiful as the children play cricket, softball and old time Caribbean games.  Back indoors, they will don ankle bells or grab their maracas as they sing and move to traditional and modern rhythms.   At quiet time, the little ones will relax with traditional tales from around the world.  Camp participants will also go on four field trips including a hike and a community service project.

You will enjoy lunchtime as much as your children will.  No need to prepare packed meals. Child-friendly, healthful lunches based on world cuisines are included in the camp package.

Children from the camp (aged 8 and over) also have the option to dance in the Children’s Parade for August Festival 2013.   Arias and Fabrega through Oyster Global Marketing Group has invited the camp participants to join their Festival floupe showcasing the national costume and dance of Panama.

The camp runs from July 3rd to August 2nd and is for children aged 5 – 10 years.  Drop off is from 8:00am, pick-up from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. As indicated above, lunch will be provided but if your child has any known food allergies you must provide a packed lunch for them.

Supervision will be by First Impressions staff.

The camp fee with all mentioned above is only $350 for the month.
