By admin, on May 9th, 2012% – PLEASE READ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AT THE END –
A Memorial Serice is being held for Teacher Ann this Saturday May 12 at 4:30pm. The Service will be held at First Impressions. We expect to have a rather large turnout and planning and implementation time is limited.
As you can imagine, the resources of the school are stretched to the limit now. If you wish to assist in any way please let the school know so that things can be coordinated, but please also be aware that Ms. Frett especially is under tremendous pressure and that your help will be needed.
This post will be updated periodically and additions will be given date and time stamps so look out for more information.
10-May-12
There will be no body at this memorial service. For those who desire, a viewing has been arranged from 2:30p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home .
If you would like to submit a tribute to Teacher Ann via e-mail, send it to admin@firstimpressionsbvi.com by Friday 7pm. Tributes e-mailed after that time are not guaranteed to be included in our presentation.

Re: Change of Staff
I am sorry to have to inform you that Teacher Ina of Preschool 2 has submitted an unexpected resignation as she wishes to explore avenues at the primary school level. Unfortunately, that is not possible here at First Impressions.
In light of this, I have had to reassign teacher Ann from Toddler two back to Preschool. Teacher Natalie remains in Toddler 2 and Teacher Celine from Toddler 1 has been placed in Toddler 2. Teacher Alma will revert back to assisting Teacher Marcy in toddler 1. These Reassignments are not difficult as all concerned have prior experience in the groups assigned.
I do sincerely apologise for the very sudden notice however, I could only respond with the situation as it was presented to me. I anticipate a smooth transition and wish to thank you for your cooperation during the unexpected event.
I take this opportunity to gently remind you of our end of year activities.

Re: Staffing and Class Concerns
Parents,
As most of you are aware some classes are being shifted around. This is due to separate and personal issues with individual teachers. We have been forced to double up on some classes due to the absences of teachers. We have, since school opened, dealt with death, illnesses and insubordination.
These are all temporary challenges that are being ironed out. A new teacher has been sourced and will be here for the beginning of the new term. In the interim, Grades 5 and 3 are in the big trailer. However, Ms. Nicholls, the Grade 1 teacher, has not been well and we have had to adjust to accommodate this. Her health concerns we hope will be rectified by next week. She will reschedule the parent conferences.
Grade 2’s teacher is not leaving, but has to be off island until the 16 November. Shifting will occur again to accommodate the temporary absence. I also will not be in office until the 17 November.
I apologise for the upheavals presently being experienced. I am aware of parents’ concerns and am trying my utmost to rectify them. I know patience is running thin, however, I continue to ask for your understanding, as the new staff settles into their respective roles.
Thank you for your continued support.

- Thursday 30th – Children to be dropped off at the Cultural Centre at 8:30am. Recognition Ceremony to begin at 12:00 noon. Children should be dressed in school uniform (no P.E. uniforms) and should bring their lunches and snacks.
